In math yesterday, was a fun day we did a nother page in our math book. The pages were easy for most of the class olmost all the class finished.Our class was pretty fast about it becase, we all have two of the greatest teachers i have ever had!I have never had such a nice class in all my life of being in school!

JUST A REGULAR DAY !!!!!!!!
Today we all had to try and finish our report cover for our library book report on our famous people . We had turkey dippers for lunch and with tangerine's, or we could have peanut butter and jelly sandwitches. Pretty much every one could not wait to go home ! Were doing this thing were the kid's sell choclate to raise money for our school suplies , there's also one fundraiser were the kid's also do it for jump roping so kid's that have an heart promblem can get an heart plant to be able to take care of it!!!! Today we learned how to do equivalent fractions.Also, we learned to part the fractions. We had grilled cheese for lunch it was really good , we also had ham and cheese witch ever was our choice ! mostly every one was happy to be able to learn there equivalent fractions. Science c-sap practice was fun to, and c-sap is only right around the corner! Finialy, we all had fun in music today ,music is really fun to go to .

Red-footed tortoises
On Wednesday, Mr. Fitch's class had a great opportunity in science. Our fifth-grade neighbors (Mrs. Wulfkuhl's class -- visit their blog at http://wulfkuhle5.blogspot.com) had some four-footed guests and Mr. Fitch's class was invited to come see. We learned about red-footed tortoises. Here are some of the facts we learned:
- The temperature of the eggs determine whether the tortoises are boys or girls when they hatch.
- They live in South America, specifically in humid forests.
- They are omnivores, but most of the time prefer plants.
- Some people eat the tortoises.

The votes are in!
Last week, Mr. Fitch's class read an article about voting during reading class and Mrs. Griffin thought it would be a great idea to elect a reading president. She didn't understand that the election would take on a life of its own.
First, each reading group nominated a candidate. That was hard. Some people were mad and sad when they weren't chosen as a candidate. All four candidates turned out to be boys and that made the girls more angry. Mrs. Griffin told them they could create a write-in campaign and see if they could get enough support for a write-in candidate. This is much more difficult, however, because people have to actually write the person's name on the ballot.
The room was plastered with campaign posters and each candidate gave a short speech. One candidate decided to drop out of the race as well. On the day of the election, C brought cupcakes in hopes of swaying voters to her write-in campaign.
Students lined up to vote, signed to signify they received a ballot and voted in a voting booth. When the votes were tallied, C's cupcakes seemed to make the difference. She had won!
It was a great experience for our whole classroom. For the next two weeks, C will decide where everyone sits, take attendance and determine which stations everyone is required to complete.

The Field Trip !
Monday we had a field trip to University of Colorado at Colordao Springs. We had a tour around the hole school. That everybodies feet started to hurt. We got to see alot of things such as a pool and alot of other things elementary schools dont have. We saw the college students class rooms and they wee smaller than ours. Also you get to go to school whenever you want even in your pajamas. You can even get out of class whenever to eat lunch. I think I want to go to this school how about you ?

Second semester
Tuesday begins the second semester. Spring break will be here before you know it and then fifth-grade graduation and middle school!
But before we get there, we have lots of fifth-grade work to do. This month we will read The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin and solve the mystery. We will learn about flying airplanes and create experiments with our planes to test variables. In math, we are multiplying decimals.
